First, you need to ask what is a nook? A nook is an area in a room, like a corner that is secluded or obscure. You might find that in your home you have a nook or maybe even a few. But you might have no idea what to do with it. So here are some ideas to help.
Depending on the shape, perhaps built-in shelves are an option. For you book lovers you can make a reading nook. As someone who reads a lot, you can never have too many books. But that means you need the shelf space for it. As seen in the picture, you can see they have built-in shelves in the corner, with a couch, so they have somewhere to sit and read.
Another option for a nook is a built-in couch. Make a seat, with cushions which will be a great spot to go and read with a good book. If you need the extra storage space you might even be able to add it, somewhere in your design. As seen in the picture, this couch is a great comfy place to hang out.
How is your nook built? Would this be the ideal place to build a desk for that home office you’ve been dreaming about? You could build shelves, and have a desk for your computer and printer. If the nook is in the kitchen perhaps you can build a table in it, to be able to use when eating some yummy food.
Would this be the perfect place for storing all those toys and games you have? You might even be able to add a curtain to hide all the toys when not in use.
Whatever you decide to do with the nook in your home, make it practical. Something useful you can use for many more years to come.
